The Indigenous Materials Group will concentrate upon projects that will aid in increasing the availability of Scottish Stone and slate. The Group will work with industry and public sector partners to establish the demand for and feasibility of supplying stone on a regional basis across Scotland.
The Group will also look to influence Planning policy and assist in the development of guidance on extraction and use of stone and slate.
The IMG has three main areas of activity:
