The Industry Training Group aims to work with partners in the education sector and the construction industry to promote the needs of training and education in construction methods using stone for all purposes. To achieve this, the group:
- Works within the Scottish Conservation Forum in Training and Education to gain access to training providers and educational establishments and contribute to a common agenda of improving access to and resources for education and training in the sector.
- Facilitates communication between the education sector and industry, through its links with the Stone Federation and National Federation of Roofing Contractors.
- Continue to support and take part in the development of specific qualifications required to meet the needs of the industry.
- Take an active role in theNational Heritage Training Group, to ensure that the specific needs of the stone industry are addressed.
