The Policy Research & Development Group aims to advance an agenda for the maintenance of Scotland’s stone built heritage, we collaborate with relevant organisations such as:
- Historic Scotland and City Heritage Trust, to demonstrate the ‘Monument Watch’ stewardship concept and evaluate how it could be delivered within the Scottish context (schemes of this sort have been developed in Belgium, the Netherlands and in County Claire, Ireland. - The Scottish Building Standards Agency and others to encourage the development of maintenance policies.
- The Scottish Government and the Scottish Construction Forum, to encourage the financial Services Industry to assume a more proactive role in building maintenance.
The PR&DG is also commited to working towards the establishment of a National Historic Environment Maintenance and Repairs Loan Fund that could be accessed by both public and private sector bodies.
