The Indigenous Materials Group aims to identify and safeguard existing and potential sources of stone to maintain the character of the built environment in Scotland by:
- Working with commercial quarry operators, landowners and local authorities to identify sites that could satisfy demands for specific material.
- Co-
ordinating relations between industry and regulatory authorities to ensure that resources are ethically managed and extracted according to best practice.
