The Industry Training Group aims to ensure that professionals within the construction industry sector are aware of the benefits of using indigenous stone and that they are informed as to the current best practice and knowledge available concerning its use. The group works with:
- Professional bodies to ensure that knowledge of stone is included within the curriculum of taught courses and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes.
- Trade Federations to encourage CPD and dissiminate current best practice.
- Regulatory authorities to ensure that the planning and building control systems acknowledge the impotance of indigenous Scottish building stone and that the regulatory framework does not put this natural material at a disadvantage.
